Only one season in and the Duffer Brothers have already created what feels like a classic. 'Stranger Things' taps into the sentiment of being an 80's baby, loving Scifi, late night bike rides, monsters and staying up past your bedtime. It has an authenticity that few, if any, of the countless 80's throwbacks can match. A compelling score. Amazing costume design. An incredible newcomer in Millie Bobby Brown of which I am sure we will see many years to come.

NOVEMBER 6TH, 1983
HAWKINS, INDIANA

The worst thing that’s ever happened in the last four years is when an owl attacked Eleanor Gillespie’s head because it thought her hair was a nest.

Like Astoria, Oregon and Eerie, Indiana before it, the sleepy town of Hawkins is an important character in it’s own right. From the quaint suburban sprawl to the not-quite-right woods, watching the boys ride through the scenery on their BMXs feels at once wholly authentic and saccharinely nostalgic.

The Flea & The Acrobat

"Science is neat, but I'm afraid it's not very forgiving"

"Picture... an acrobat... standing on a tightrope. Now, the tightrope is our dimension. And our dimension has rules. You can move forwards, or backwards. But, what if... right next to our acrobat, there is a flea? Now, the flea can also travel back and forth, just like the acrobat. Right? Right. Here's where things get really interesting. The flea can also travel this way... along the side of the rope. He can even go... underneath the rope. Upside down. Exactly. But we're not the flea, we're the acrobat. In this metaphor, yes, we're the acrobat. So we can't go upside down? No."

What about Barb?
Well, we figured we had to get something about poor ole Barb in here.

Let’s shoot straight- Barb doesn’t hate fun. She just hates sex and beer and pools and nice clothes and boys and probably you. Oh, and her mom probably thinks she's still at the library.

"Like,
Professor X?"
"Yeah, she threw you in the air with her mind!"

She’s scared, she’s cold, and she’s probably a psycho like Michael Meyers. Though she doesn’t say much, the "weirdo" is hiding a truly remarkable secret.

Where did she come from? Is Terry Ives her mother? Is her real name “Jane?” And maybe most importantly: have you ever seen a a kid with a tattoo before?

What the sh*t is
MKUltra?
Ok. This part is real.

There’s a reason the government is always the bad guy. MKUltra was a real CIA mind control program in the late 50's and early 60's that dosed hundreds of unknowing citizens with LSD in order to study the effects of the drug.
